There were 68,773 police officers in Canada on May 15, 2016. This represents a rate of police strength of 190 officers per 100,000 population. In 2016, just over 2,000 police recruit graduates were hired in Canada. There is significant attention given to the training of these recruits in order to deliver content that is high quality, efficient, and safe. safeGUARDVR delivers on all of this!
To meet the needs of the industry, nearly 50 post-secondary institutes in Canada are training new police recruits. One of which is Lethbridge College who takes approximately 200 students into their Criminal Justice - Policing program every year. Tuition for that program is set at $7,817 per student. Within this program, $10,070 is spent on course development for new classes. Therefore, a diploma program made of 20 courses costs around $205,900. To this end, most of the marketing for this product will be aimed at the Solicitor General, the police sector and the post-secondary institutions that support them. |

How We Are Different

Immersive Simulator
Other simulators in use, like the driving simulator seen above, use screens or arcade-like technology. Our technology puts the cadets right in the action rather than being separated by a screen. Because of the immersive nature of our technology, the brain experiences these situations as real.
Learning Analytics
Unlike our competitors or actor-lead scenarios, our platform offers real-time learning analytics. Your trainers will be able to see where cadets are struggling with skills or where they can increase efficiencies or safety.

Cost
Other competitor technology can cost up to four times as much for a weaker experience. There is an original expense of a computer and head-mounted display. The product will be offered on a subscription basis with updated and new scenarios delivered directly to the machine with no need for technicians.
Diverse Experiences
We deliver a broad range of experiences that provide cadets with valuable experience dealing with highly emotional and stressful situations. These include de-escalation, the use of force, DUI, process and procedure in intense situations, and even giving them practice in recall for report writing.
